Dentistry for Children
Welcome to our office. We are excited to have the the opportunity to meet your child. The ADA recommends that all children have their first dental appointment by their first birthday (yes, at one year old!). This visit is focused on education, prevention of dental cavities and an evaluation of how your child’s baby teeth are developing.
The first visits will not only give us the opportunity to build that trust and relationship with the child, but also allow them to feel comfortable with us. Parents/Guardian are welcome in the treatment room with their child.
Being patient and spending the time to tell, show and properly explain to your child what is going to be done is generally the best way to alleviate any anxiety that they may have.
We will spend the time needed to make sure your child feels at ease. However, even with best care and patience, whether or it be due to their age or previous dental experience, some kids need to be sedated in order to facilitate their treatment in a positive manner.
